Author's Notes: Funny how much I draw on my own life experiences and interests to craft these stories. The koi and pond are real in a nirvana-like backyard. Catching them each fall, to be wintered in the basement, was usually the final backyard event before Winter would roll through the Dakotas.
This trust thing, yeah that...what's stronger? the actual ropes in the story or the desire to push through your fears and embrace the love yet to be discovered.
I'm not a practitioner of Shibari (the binding sequences described in both Unbound 1 & 2) but I find it hauntingly beautiful to look at. While aggressively alluring, it provided the backdrop theme of the book as the essence of trust between partners. Enjoy.

Author's Notes: This has an alternative ending that I may add at some point. I usually start out with a story idea and then develop the story in that direction, but this one took me in two directions, only one of which ended up here. Not a radically different outcome, but Hunter's character offered an alternative at one point. Maybe a spin off.
I do have a mysterious neighbor down the street, just sayin'.

About: Mira was talented from the beginning. As a child she could pick up a crayon, later a pencil or pastels and create a personal masterpiece. A great eye combined with a steady hand and her canvases would come alive. The creativity flowed like music.
Her promising art career took a nosedive when her mother chose to trade her father in for a new boytoy. Her mother’s actions destroyed the family but Mira was strong… for awhile. She did what she could to help her little brother. Mom pretty much ditched them, Dad did his best but it wouldn’t be enough.
Then, in what seemed like slow motion, she snapped.
She took it hard. Her art got dark. It got angry. It was no longer alive. It was something very different indeed. The damage, the pressure, everyone was a critic. She boiled over.
She cut up more than her canvas.
Her physical recovery was quick. She was smart and strong. The emotional recovery would take far longer.
Author's Notes: There is a scene in this book where I had Rihanna's Kiss It Better, playing on repeat for about an hour. See if you can guess where... There's so much about this one that comes from my real life. The art class settings and the naked walk-arounds were a real thing. I really think that an artist harnesses magic, both their own and maybe from elsewhere too to create.
I think I know Mira a little too well and I was sad when this finished up.
I don't think I'm done with her character.

About: Sometimes a girl just needs a fresh start
Diana Aaron has had a rough time of it. Bad partners, bad decisions and worse outcomes. A little time away will do her good. When a friend suggests a Western vacation, she packs up and heads to a secluded Montana ranch. What she finds there is much more than she expected.
And, exactly what she needs.
Sometimes the best laid plans…are exactly that.
